These refiners now settle payments within two days instead of the usual five, aiming to secure discounted Russian oil while navigating an increasingly restricted global trade environment. The urgency stems from Washington's announcement of stricter sanctions targeting Russia’s oil industry, which are set to take effect next month. Refiners are keen to ensure transactions are completed during the “wind-down” period allowed for pre-sanctioned cargoes. At least 4.4 million barrels of Russian oil are en route to Indian ports like Jamnagar, Chennai, Paradip, and Visakhapatnam. On October 5th PM Modi laid the foundation stone for and launched project worth around 5000 crore in several sectors like rail, road, aviation , health and higher education in Rajasthan.
The projects include health infrastructure like trauma centre and critical care centre and a state of the art New Terminal Building at Jodhpur. Library, hostel and mess of Rajasthan Central University.
PM Modi also flagged of train services. Runicha Express connecting through Jaisalmer to Delhi and a new heritage train running from Marwar Junction to Kambli Ghat.
PM Modi also said that everyone should visit Jodhpur once in their lifetime.
